World Lupus Federation Lupus Group Leaders Workshop

The World Lupus Federation (WLF) will host a Lupus Group Leaders’ Workshop on April 5 during the International Lupus Congress that will be held in San Francisco April 5-8. Officers, trustees, members, and volunteers with lupus groups from around the globe are invited to attend this two-hour workshop. A preliminary agenda for this workshop is provided below.

If you plan to attend the International Lupus Congress in San Francisco, we invite you to participate in this workshop. Participants will help shape future activities of the World Lupus Federation.

The WLF also will offer a live online feed for people who are not able to travel to San Francisco. We will post in late March on the WLF website instructions on how to access the live feed. The website address is

Opening remarks, introductions, review of agenda and meeting expectations

19:20 – 19:40 UTC
Review and discussion of draft goals for the World Lupus Federation Strategic Plan for the period 2020 -2022 (a draft of the plan will be provided to registered participants prior to the workshop for review)

Review and discussion of plans to launch the “A Vision for Lupus” report, developed by GSK in collaboration with representatives from the lupus community and the World Lupus Federation

20:00 – 20:30 UTC
Global Recognition Strategy Discussion – One of the primary aims of the World Lupus Federation is to elevate lupus on the world’s health priorities. During this session we will discuss potential strategies to advance this very important goal

20:30 – 21:00 UTC
International Lupus Congress Preview – A member of the Lupus Foundation of America Medical-Scientific Advisory Council will highlight several of the significant studies to be presented during the scientific sessions
